In a Nutshell
Newnan’s population is approximately 33,039 and was established as county seat of Coweta County in 1828 and was named for North Carolinian General Daniel Newnan. It quickly became a prosperous magnet for lawyers, doctors, other professionals, and merchants.

Save time for shopping for antiques and treasures in the historic downtown area and our outdoor mall, Ashley Park. We are also very proud of our newest addition, the Chattahoochee Bend State Park, where you can camp, fish, picnic and hike 12 miles of wooded trails.
